The main difference between ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis is: ① The structure of the membrane is different. Generally, the ultrafiltration membrane is loose, the permeable flux is large, and the salt removal rate is low, while the reverse osmosis membrane is dense, the permeable flux is small, and it has selective permeability. ②The permeation mechanism of the membrane is different. The separation of the ultrafiltration membrane is mainly sieving, while the separation process of the reverse osmosis membrane is also accompanied by complex physical and chemical effects. ③ Different working pressures, the ultrafiltration process can be carried out at a lower operating pressure, and the operating pressure range is generally 0.1-0.5MPa, while reverse osmosis must apply a higher external pressure in order to overcome the osmotic pressure, and its operating pressure range is 2. ~10MPa. ④ Different solutes are retained.
